Why choose a French renovation company in Madrid?
Everything is handled in French: the site visit, the quote, the follow-up and the dealings with the comunidad de propietarios (the building’s owners’ association). You get the standard of finish you are used to, with craftspeople who know Spanish regulations and suppliers.
How long does a full apartment renovation in Madrid take?
It depends on the surface area, the condition of the property and the permits required. The schedule is set out with the quote, and we keep you updated at every stage.
Do you need a permit to renovate an apartment in Madrid?
Yes, most works require a procedure with the town hall: a declaración responsable (works declaration) for routine work, and a licencia de obras (building licence) for heavier work affecting the structure or the façade. The agreement of the comunidad de propietarios is sometimes needed too. We tell you what applies to your project and deal with it alongside you.
What rate of VAT applies to renovation work in Spain?
In a home, the reduced 10% VAT (IVA) can apply to certain renovation work when the property is more than two years old, the client is the end user and the materials supplied do not exceed 40% of the price. Otherwise the standard 21% rate applies. The quote states the rate used, item by item.
Can I follow my project from abroad?
Yes. If you are buying in Madrid before moving there, we send photos and videos at every stage on WhatsApp, and we arrange video calls for material choices.
Is the quote free?
Yes, for a standard renovation project the visit and the quote are free. For a Signature project, the design phase (plans, renders, choice of materials) is a separate service, presented before any commitment.
